Delete your account & data

This page explains how to delete your account and data from the Ramapo Safety Initiative app and website. The app is operated by Ramapo Safety Initiative, an independent, resident-led civic project.
Step 1: Send a deletion request
Email us from the address linked to your account. Tap the button below to open your email app with a pre-filled request.
Or email info@ramaposafetyinitiative.com with the subject “Account and data deletion request” and the email address you use to sign in.
Step 2: We process your request
We complete most deletion requests within 30 days. We will email you at the address you used to confirm the request and again when deletion is complete.
Data that is deleted
When we delete your account, we remove the following data:
- Account profile: your name, email address, and any saved preferences.
- Neighborhood Alerts: your subscription, saved address, and alert radius.
- Safety reports: reports and photos you submitted through the app or website.
- Hotline activity: your phone number and voicemail or text-message history tied to our hotline, if you used it.
Data that is kept and why
Some information may be retained after your account is deleted:
- Public records already delivered to officials: Petitions, public comments, or safety reports already forwarded to the Town of Ramapo or other public bodies are part of the public record and are not deleted.
- Aggregated analytics: De-identified usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you are retained.
- Legal/compliance records: Information we are required to keep by law (for example, for security or tax purposes) is retained for the minimum period required by applicable law.
Additional retention period
Once your account is deleted, any remaining legal/compliance records are retained only for the minimum time required by law. After that period expires, those records are also deleted.
